Sandbox-2D is a 2D side-scrolling game, where you can build, destroy and explore the procedurally generated worlds.

Features

  • Player controller
  • Building and destroying
  • Water, lava and sand physics

Controls

  • ESC - regenerate world (will clear any blocks!)
  • A, D - move left/right
  • SPACE - jump
  • Q, E - switch blocks
  • R - toggle building in foreground/background
  • LEFT CLICK - destroy
  • RIGHT CLICK - build
  • MIDDLE CLICK - select a block

All of the code is publicly available in GitHub and licensed under MIT.

Install instructions

Install the .zip/.tar.gz file, unzip it and run the executable. Library files and assets folder must be in the same directory in which the executable is run.
